{"id":4059,"date":"2020-01-21T20:36:24","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T19:36:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/compera.vanvlerken.nl\/?p=4059"},"modified":"2020-01-21T20:45:17","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T19:45:17","slug":"intelligent_configuration_manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/compera.vanvlerken.nl\/en\/intelligent_configuration_manager\/","title":{"rendered":"MORE IN CONTROL WITH SAP ARIBA\u2019S INTELLIGENT CONFIGURATION MANAGER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the first year that SAP Ariba uses a new naming convention for releases, the upcoming 2002 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">feature release brings a most wanted self-service feature to customers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> SAP Ariba\u2019s Intelligent Configuration Manager (ICM) lets you configure your Ariba site settings, without sending a service request<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> (SR)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Of course,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the customer was able to <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">change a limited number of parameters through the customization manager, but upon till now only SAP Ariba was able to make real site changes. These two are now combined in the Intelligent Configuration Manager.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">both customers and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">SAP Ariba,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> it will reduce the service request workload, but for customers it brings<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">even more benefits, such as<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">F<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">aster deployment time of project and changes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">udit trail of changes done;<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"1\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A controlled t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ransport mechanism.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233279&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> transport mechanism within ICM comes with a workflow, where you can update the parameter(s)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> in a so-called<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> package and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">review<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, test &amp; approve the changes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> before deploying it to your production sit<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. If the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">changed parameter is used in another change, it immediately gives an error message that the required configuration already has been added to another package.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">also <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">can add attachments, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">such as<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> test results, through the whole process. If the test is successful, you can <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">mark<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the package <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">for <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">deployment<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
