Probably you heard already about it as a SAP Procurement and Ariba adept; since April 2015 the Ariba Network Adapter for SAP SRM has been on the market. This enables the exchange of PO’s and PO confirmations between SAP SRM and the Ariba Network in cXML format. In the meantime we’ve gained project experience regarding this topic, so it’s time for a blog.<\/p>\n
To run the complete P2P process through the Ariba Network, there is not only exchange with SAP SRM required but also with SAP ECC. As a procurement system SAP SRM delivers the PO information to the Ariba Network and the rest of the info, like goods receipts and invoices, goes through SAP ECC.<\/p>\n

The difference between cXML messages of the\u00a0SRM-AN adapter and the ECC-AN adapter<\/em><\/p>\n This blog focusses on the SAP SRM connection with the Ariba Network and in particular how it can be realized and how it looks like.<\/p>\n Actions that need to be executed on-premise\u00a0in SAP SRM:<\/strong><\/p>\n The\u00a0Ariba Network customizing in the SAP SRM system<\/em><\/p>\n Monitoring of the\u00a0direct integration between SAP\u00a0SRM and the Ariba Network<\/em><\/p>\n Settings made by Ariba on the Ariba Network:<\/strong><\/p>\n How does it look like on the\u00a0Ariba Network?<\/strong><\/p>\n After sending a PO from SAP SRM to the Ariba Network, it is delivered in the outbox of the customer \/ purchasing organization<\/strong>:<\/p>\n At the same time the PO is delivered in the inbox of the vendor<\/strong>:<\/p>\n One of the advantages of the Ariba Network is that PO’s can be processed directly\u00a0into follow-on documents like Order confirmations and Invoices. This can be done one PO at a time through the buttons at the right of the PO line<\/strong> or for multiple PO’s at the same time through the buttons at the bottom of the page<\/strong>:<\/p>\n For example the so called PO Flip – turning a PO into an Invoice. Dit kan per bestelling met de buttons rechts\u00a0achter de bestelling<\/strong> of voor een aantal bestellingen tegelijk met de buttons onderaan de pagina<\/strong>.<\/p> Bijvoorbeeld de zogenaamde PO Flip<\/strong> \u2013 het omzetten van de bestelling in een factuur.
